Services for Gary Card Planned for Monday, May 3

It is with great sadness to report the death of Search & Rescue member Gary Card,
age 58. On April 26, 2010, at about 4:30 p.m., Gary and other members of a Hasty
Team were dispatched to assist Morongo Station with a search for a critical missing
person in the community of Wonder Valley. Shortly after Gary and the team began their
search he collapsed from what appeared to be a cardiac event. Team members and
Paramedics were present and immediately began life saving measures. He was
transported to the Naval Hospital in 29 Palms where he was pronounced at about 6:30
p.m.
