SHERIFF’S 10K RUN

March the 6th was the date of this run and we would like to thank all of our SAR personnel for their help. Most of the proceeds were going to go to the SAR Council, however at the meeting on the 20th it was determined and voted on by the Unit Reps, that we were going to donate those fund to S.E.A.T. to lend a hand to the deputy wounded in the Dorner shootings. We would like to thank everyone for supporting this worthy cause.

MSAR COUNTYWIDE TRAINING:

is scheduled to be held on May 18th. Hosted by the SAR Council, however Volunteers Forces will be helping us out with the meals that they are providing for the instructors and trainees this year. The IESARC’s MSAR Chairman Hap Hatch has planned a great day for your training and instruction. For further details please contact Hap at 951-543-8817. This training will be held at the new Heart Bar Training Facility.

NEW ARENA AND CORRALS:

have been purchased. The SAR Council would like to thank the Apple Valley Posse, Bear Valley Posse, East Valley Posse, Morongo Mounted SAR, West Valley Posse and the Rodeo Committee for their generous donations to make this possible. It will be installed at the Heart Bar Training Facility. Work was started on April 20th and 27th with a little more to do on May 11th. If you are willing to help out let me know or John Amrhein at Volunteer Forces. In the meantime, if you have any corral panels, water/feed buckets, feeders, rakes etc that you would like to donate to the Training Facility, please contact John at… 909-387-0611.

PR TRAILER:

is nearing completion. Ron Thy of the Victor Valley SAR Unit, who is donating his time and numerous hours of work, still has a few items to complete before paint, decals and lettering. However, with any luck the trailer should be on display at the next SAR Council Meeting. Keep your fingers crossed and we will keep you updated with its progress. As a reminder, if you would like to show your own units power point, slide presentation and/or videos, please start putting those together so that you will have them if you in-fact decide to use the trailer. Its great that this was completed within budget by the SARCouncil, our SAR Units and a number of SAR members without any cost to the department. Chairman Ron Pesch would like to thank everyone and all should be very proud of this accomplishment. Note: If your Unit did not make donation of $300 for this project, and you would like to be on the sponsor banner, please let me know ASAP or at SAR Council and we will add your Unit name.

SAR COUNCIL MEETING:

The next meeting of the SAR Council will be held on May 15th at Headquarters. As usual the meeting will be held upstairs and will start at 7 p.m. Hopefully, as mentioned above, the new PR Trailer will be in the parking lot and on display. Again, it might not be, but we are trying to finish it by that date and if not it will be done by May 30th at the latest.
